Telnet: protocol which allows to log into a remote computer,
simulating a simple text terminal.
- Of course one needs an account on the other computer and has to provide
username and password.
- Some internet services use telnet with a special restricted guest account.

- If one enters such a URL in a browser, it openes another window with the text
terminal. Special telnet programs provide additional functionality like
logging of all input and output.
